You will need:
Mixing bowl, waffle iron, whisk, pastry brush
Ingredients for the cheese waffles
For 6 servings, 1 serving = 1 waffle (0 g of sugar)
200 g feta
200 g wheat flour, type 405
1 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp canola oil
150 ml milk
3 eggs
½ tsp salt
pepper to taste
some canola oil for brushing
herbs e.g. parsley, chives to taste
Preparation
Step 1:
Cut 200 g of feta into small cubes. Optionally, wash the herbs and cut them into small pieces as well.
Step 2:
Mix 200 g of wheat flour and 1 tsp of baking powder. Add 3 tbsp of canola oil, 150 ml of milk, 3 eggs, ½ tsp of salt, and season with pepper and herbs to taste.
Step 3:
Mix the ingredients with a whisk until smooth, then add the feta and mix well.
Step 4:
Now, heat the waffle iron and brush it with oil. Once the waffle iron is hot, pour in approximately 2 tbsp of batter per waffle. Spread the batter slightly within the waffle iron.
First, bake a mini waffle to check whether it is well seasoned.
Step 5:
Place the hot waffles on a cooling rack to cool.
The cheese waffles taste delicious when paired with the herb dip.
