You will need:
Food processor, baking tray, baking paper
Ingredients for cardamom squares
For approx. 24 squares, 1 serving = 1 square (0 g of sugar)
200 g dates pitted
100 g almond paste, white
10 tbsp water
100 g wheat flour type 405
100 g almonds, ground
1 pinch baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
pinch of salt
Optional: dust with baking cocoa
Preparation
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (if possible, use the convection setting).
Place 200 g of pitted dates, 100 g of almond paste, and 10 tbsp hot water in a food processor and blend until you get a thick paste.
Step 2:
Mix 100 g of wheat flour, 100 g of ground almonds,1 pinch of baking soda, ½ tsp of ground cardamom, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until well combined.
Step 3:
Add the date paste and knead everything into a smooth dough.
Step 4:
Spread the dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper to a thickness of approx. 1 cm and bake for approx. 15 minutes.
Let the dough cool for about 30 minutes and then cut into squares about 3 x 3 cm with a sharp knife or pizza cutter. Optionally dust with cocoa.
In a well-sealed container, the cardamom squares will keep for about a week.
