You will need
Food processor, baking tray, baking paper
Ingredients for the cardamom squares
For approximately 24 squares, 1 serving = 1 square (0 g of sugar)
200 g pitted dates
100 g white almond butter
10 tbsp water
100 g wheat flour, type 405
100 g ground almonds
1 pinch of baking soda
½ tsp ground cardamom
1 pinch of salt
Optional: dust with cocoa powder
Preparation
Step 1:
Place 200 g of pitted dates, 100 g of almond butter, and 10 tbsp of hot water in a food processor and blend until a smooth mixture forms.
Step 2:
In a bowl, mix 100 g of wheat flour, 100 g of ground almonds, a pinch of baking soda, ½ tsp of ground cardamom, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Step 3:
Add the date mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough.
Step 4:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Spread the dough about 1 cm thick on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C for about 15 minutes.
Let the dough cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into roughly 3 x 3 cm squares using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. Optionally, dust with cocoa powder.
Store the cardamom squares in an airtight container for about a week.
