Preparation
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 8 equal rectangles using a knife.

Step 2:
Peel, core, and dice 250 g of apples. Juice ½ of a lemon and set the juice aside.

Step 3:
In a bowl, mix the diced apples with 1 tbsp of lemon juice from the squeezed lemon, 2 tbsp of apple juice or water, 8 g of cane sugar, 1 tbsp of cornstarch, and 2 tsp of cinnamon. Add 15 g of sliced almonds and 35 g of raisins.

Step 4:
Place 1½ tbsp of the apple filling on one side of the puff pastry rectangle. Fold the other side over it.

Step 5:
Press the edges of the apple turnovers together with a fork. Use a knife to cut 3 slits into the top of each apple turnover.

Step 6:
Brush the apple turnovers with a little milk. Bake at 200°C for about 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

The apple turnovers taste best when served warm. If you like, you can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or vanilla sauce. Just remember to track the amount of sugar.
